Frank DeRubes also known as Fiorino of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on November 16, 2011 surrounded by his family. Born on June 27, 1925 in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late John "Giovanni" and Immaculata (Salciciolli) DeRubeis. He married Antoinette "Toni" (San Lorenzo) on October 23, 1948.
Frank spent his childhood years in Italy before moving back to Niagara Falls at the age of ten. He worked at Hooker Chemical, Bell Aircraft and the Niagara Power Project until he and his brother opened DeRubes Brothers Texaco Station on Ontario Ave, in Niagara Falls. Frank enjoyed bowling, golf and his garden. He also loved to cook and spend time with his family.
Devoted father to: Cynthia Barone of Grand Island, NY; Gail (Deacon Gary) Terrana of Niagara Falls, NY; and John (Julie) DeRubes of Grand Island, NY. His grandchildren: Richard (Rachel) Barone of San Diego, CA; Gary (Abigale) Terrana of Sumter, SC; Maria Barone, Frank, Brian and Sean DeRubes. Great grandfather of Giovanni, Gianna, Lucianna, Addison and Carter. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was predeceased by his brother, Paul (late Dora) DeRubes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18th from 4-8p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19th at 10 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Parish on 800 Niagara Falls BLVD, North Tonawanda, NY.(Everyone Please assemble at Church) Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
