Obituary
Frank M. DiMeo, 55 of Valois, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday February 6, 2015. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he is the son of Virginia (DerOhannesian) DiMeo and Francis "Dempsey" (Virginia Ackerman) DiMeo both of Niagara Falls, NY.
Frank attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School. Frank's passion in life was photography. He was a graduate of the Professional Photography program at Kodak/R.I.T. (Rochester Institute of Technology) and valedictorian of his graduating class. He worked as a professional photographer at Cornell University, and most recently as a well known wedding photographer. He was a member of several professional photography organizations, and the recipient of numerous awards. Frank's works have been featured on the covers of Newsweek, Time Magazine, USA Today and the New York Times. Frank will be remembered as a passionate photographer with an enormously generous heart that stemmed from his love for family as it poured out of him and into his work, capturing thousands of precious moments among family and friends. He was always a great friend and beacon of generosity and kindness.
Frank was the loving and devoted father of his two children, Bella Rose DiMeo and Gabriel DiMeo, brother of, DeeAnn (Will) DiMeo-Tompkins of Grand Island, NY and Michael A. DiMeo of Buffalo, NY, uncle of, William and Gracie Tompkins. He is also survived by several aunts and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday February 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery Lewiston, NY. Memorial donations in Frank's memory may be made to a scholarship fund for his children that will be established at a later date.
