Frank P. Forgione, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Elderwood at Wheatfield Health Care Facility in Wheatfield, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Arcangelo and Antonina (Cammarata) Forgione.

Frank was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School in 1946. He served in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Stars. On January 9, 1954 he married Giuditta (Fiorita) Forgione at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Frank was a member of the Carpenters Union #280 in Niagara Falls for over fifty years and worked at various construction sites for Jack Price and Sicoli and Massaro Construction Companies. He also worked on several large construction projects in the area which included the Power Project, the Niagara Falls Convention Center, Summerset and Griffon Manor.

Frank was a devout Catholic who read the Bible daily. He was longtime and a dedicated member of St. Joseph Church, often donating his time for repairs at the Church and School. He was also very active with their St. Vincent DePaul Society, and served as their president. Frank was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and a proud blood donor for the American Red Cross. He was a "daily fixture" at Mike's Marketside Restaurant in Niagara Falls. In his leisure time, Frank enjoyed winemaking, bowling, and exercising at the Y.M.C.A. He was an accomplished runner, and won several 5K awards for his age group. But above all Frank, will be remembered for being an extremely generous man who would never said no to anyone.

Mr. Forgione's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Elderwood Health Care at Wheatfield, especially Unit Two, for the caring and compassionate care provided for Frank.

In addition to his wife of sixty one years, Frank is survived by his four children, Robert (Debbie Pedulla) Forgione of Niagara Falls, NY, Antoinette Shaw of Tonawanda, NY, John (Jodi Zaky) Forgione and William (Anna Marie) Forgione both of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one daughter Maria Forgione. He is also survived by one grandson Alexander Shaw, four siblings, Joseph (Mary) Forgione, Josephine LePage, Sara Forgione all of Niagara Falls, NY, Angelo (late Joan) Forgione of Sanborn, NY and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Connie Coppede, Jennie Forgione and one brother Adolph (late Marie) Forgione.

Visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday, November 30th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Ste. 6, Williamsville, NY 14221, the Leukemia Society of America WNY Chapter, 4053 Maple Rd.
