Frank J. Micale, 91, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, and Stoneham, MA, and most recently Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, SC. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the cherished son of the late Joseph and Josephine (DiNoto) Micale and the beloved husband of 70 years to Patricia (LeSacchi) Micale, whom he married on November 12, 1955, at St. Joseph Church.
A graduate of Niagara Falls High School, Frank joined the Army Reserves after graduation. In 1953 he began his long and dedicated career with Goodyear Rubber & Tire Company where he served as Union President. In 1975, he relocated to Stoneham, MA, and served as the International Union Representative for the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers in the New England States. In later years he served in the same capacity for PACE and the USW unions. Frank loved his work deeply. He was devoted to the union and worked tirelessly to negotiate strong, fair contracts that protected and uplifted the workers he represented.
Frank centered his life around his family, especially his beloved children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. He enjoyed playing golf and long walks, whether that was at the Square One Mall or walking outside in nature where he would comment on the plants and trees, especially the palms. He found great joy in hosting family gatherings at his home in Stoneham, MA. The family built a home on Lovejoy Pond in Maine, where he loved having family vacations and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Frank will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his devotion to family, and the kindness and steadiness he brought to every part of his life. His legacy lives on in the generations who loved him dearly.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, Frank is survived by his beloved children, Barbara (Jose) Martinez Jr, Carol (Timothy) Culp, Lisa (Charlie) Giuffrida, Joanne (Cliff Phippen) Micale and Joseph (Eileen) Micale; his beloved grandchildren, Joseph Martinez, Matthew (Madeline) Martinez, Kara (Peter) Spain, Michael (Stephanie) McSheehy, Maria McSheehy, Daniel (Alexis) Stemke, Amelia (Andrew) Farrell, Katie Micale, Morgan Kerins, Owen Kerins, Taylor Kerins; great‑grandchildren, Maeve McSheehy, Nora McSheehy, Emryn McSheehy, Mason Spain, Sophia Spain, Olivia Martinez, Eloise Martinez; his sister, Jennie (late Jack) Conti, and was predeceased by his sister, Angeline Micale.
