Frank N. Nicoletti Sr., 67, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday October 2, 2011 at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Ralph and Ruth (LaValley) Nicoletti.
Frank was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School and later from Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo, NY. On July 31, 1964 he married Charlvene M. (D'Amelio) Nicoletti at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. He was employed as an accountant at the former Sam Paul Men's Shop and by Rainbow Security and Sentrex Security all in Niagara Falls. For the past twenty years he worked as a dedicated supervisor for the Niagara County Department of Social Services in their Niagara Falls office.
Frank was a member of several local organizations including the Sons of the American Legion Post #1142 in Niagara Falls, NY the Moose Lodge – Lower Niagara Chapter, the Niagara University Men's Basketball Booster Club and the Gourmondes Club. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees as well as a season ticket holder of the Buffalo Bills. In his spare time, Frank coached for Cataract Little Loop and Midtown boys, as well as boys and girls basketball teams at the former Sacred Heart School. Frank also bowled in the Police Bowling League, enjoyed completing crossword puzzles but most of all, loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of forty seven years, Frank is survived by three children, Frank N. (Mary) Nicoletti, Jr., Pamela J. (Michael) Banach and Carmen M. (Philip) Tripi all of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren, Anastasia M. Redmond, Marissa C. Banach, Courtney M. Banach, Philip P. Tripi, Vincent F. Tripi and was predeceased by one grandson Andrew W. Redmond. He is also survived by one great-grandson Andrew W. Redmond, Jr., two brothers and one sister, Paul (Marilyn) Nicoletti of Lewiston, NY; Carole (Eugene) Burson of Niagara Falls, NY and Vincent (Kathy) Nicoletti of the Town of Niagara, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was the brother-in-law of, Lois Frizzell of Wilson, Vincent D'Amelio, Lorraine (Noel) Veden both of Virginia and Karen (Joseph) Buscemi of Niagara Falls, NY.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Thursday October 6th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Raphael Church, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Donations in Mr. Nicoletti's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
