Frank A. Oliverio, Sr, 84, of Grand Island, NY passed away Monday December 29, 2008 at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Silvio and Angeline (Pedaci) Oliverio.

Frank attended schools in Niagara Falls. He worked at International Paper Company in Niagara Falls, NY for twenty-five years, and later at the New York State Power Authority in Lewiston for twenty years, retiring in 1986. Frank served in the United States Army during World War II, On May 17, 1947 he married Louise M. (Crapis) Oliverio in St. Joseph Church, Niagara Falls, NY. Frank enjoyed art and was known for his excellent drawing skills. He also enjoyed OTB and bingo at the Volare Lodge. Frank was known for his good sense of humor, and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and their many friends.

In addition to his wife of sixty-one years, Mr. Oliverio is survived by his two children Frank A. (Dorothy) Oliverio, Jr. of Lewiston, NY and Margaret (Vincent) Martello of Grand Island, NY; three grandsons Anthony Martello, Christopher Martello, John Martello and many nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by one sister Eleanor (late Louis) DiPietro, and three brothers Ernest (Antoinette of West Seneca, NY) Oliverio, Sam (Rose of Potsdam, NY) Oliverio, and Silvio 'Ollie' (late Frances) Oliverio.

Friends may call Thursday January 1st from 2 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday January 2nd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's R.C. Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Grand Island, NY.
