Frank J. Panza, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Sister's Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Ralph and Angeline (Orlando) Panza; and beloved husband to Fay (Utter) Panza.
Frank graduated from Niagara Falls High School and served in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge. He proudly served as a New York State Trooper for over 33 years until his retirement in 1996. During his tenure he spent 20 years as a uniformed officer and the last 13 years on the BCI Unit as a detective. In 1979, he was awarded the New York State Trooper of the Year Award for his outstanding and dedicated service. Frank would later obtain his Bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo Magna Cum Laude in History and Philosophy while serving as a Trooper.
Frank was an excellent cook and baker who showed his love through cooking for others. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, Fay, Mr. Panza is survived by his children, Beth (Kevin) Donner, Mary Ann Settlemyre and Barbara (Jeffrey Leskiw) Panza; four grandchildren, Zachary (fiancé Alyssa) Donner, Maxwell Donner, Henry Leskiw and Thomas Leskiw; his siblings Ralph (late Marian) Panza, Ret. CWO-2, (Nancy Arsenaut) and Helen Panza, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, John (late Nancy) Panza.
Frank's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 12 Noon in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 237 4th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
