Frank S. Quaranta, Jr., 79, of Youngstown, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, February 12, 2016. Born in Holley, NY he was the son of the late Francis S. and Mildred R. (Colucci) Quaranta, Sr.
After graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1954, Frank served in the United States Air Force from 1955 through 1958 at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, and bases in France and Germany
Following his retirement from Carbide Graphite in 1993 as a Pollution Control Technician, Frank enjoyed the position of school bus driver for various schools in the Lewiston-Porter School District for a period of ten years.
As a passionate sportsman involved in hunting, fishing and trap shooting, Franks was a member of the 3 F Club (Fin, Feather & Fur) of Lewiston, the American Legion Post 1083, S.C.O.P.E., Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association and an endowment member of the National Rifle Association.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen L. (Saad) Quaranta, an aunt, Thelma Quaranta of Batavia, NY and numerous cousins.
There will be no prior visitation. Funeral service and burial with Military Honors, will be held in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo, NY at the convenience of the family. Donations in memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Arrangements by M.J.
