Frank J. Sillett, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Bertha (Marks) Sillett, Sr.
Frank moved to the Niagara Falls area with his family as a young boy. He attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1960. He served in the United States Army as a decorated sharpshooter with the 42
nd
Artillery Group from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1965. Frank served as a firefighter with City of Niagara Falls Fire Department from January 1967 until his retirement in August 1998. During that time, he worked up the ranks to become a Battalion Chief. Frank was passionate about his job and the department, and was extremely proud that his sons, Frank and Mike both serve on the Niagara Falls Fire Department, as well as William for the New Port Richey Fire Department. In his leisure time, Frank enjoyed travelling and spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his wife, Carol (Bernosky) Sillett, his four children, Frank J. (Gina) Sillett, III, Mike (Melissa) Sillett both of Wheatfield, NY, William (Terri) Phillips, VIII. of New Port Richey, FL and Ericka (John) Rowcroft of Cambria, NY, eight grandchildren, Teagan, Kassie, Michael, Jacob, Alexandria, William, Raistlin, and Rhiannon, two sisters, Patricia (Richard) Cichocki of Medina, NY, Linda (Leo) Casey of Grand Island, NY, one brother, Frederick Sillett of Niagara Falls, NY, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15
th
at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Bradley officiating. Entombment will follow with Military Honors in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
