Frank Paul "Gramps" Spendio

Frank P. Spendio 95 of Lewiston, NY entered into rest Wednesday March 30, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born November 30, 1915 in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Rocco and Maria Louigia (Lancallati) Spendio. He married his wife his wife Ada (Williams) Spendio December 6, 1941. She predeceased him in 1980.

Frank was a retired Customs Inspector and retired after 35 years of service. He served in the US Army during World War II and loved his country and was a proud veteran. Frank had a lifelong love of the Yankees, Buffalo Bills and horseracing. Most of all, he loved being with his family.

Mr. Spendio is survived by his two children Nancy (Samuel D.) Gara of Lewiston, NY and John P. (Louise) Spendio of Wheatfield, NY. Grandchildren; Lisa (Ronald) Nicoletti, Dina Gara, David Gara, Lisa (James) Ferrante, John Spendio, Donna (William) Pack, Judy (Chris) Finitz, Donna (Tim) Hoolihan and Sam (Marisa) Gara. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Spendio was predeceased by his two brothers Dominic (Bernice Whipple of Youngstown, NY) and Anthony (late Gentilina) Spendio.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday April 2nd at 9:30AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Riverdale Cemetery , Lewiston, NY. Flowers graciously declined, memorials can be made to a charity of one's choice.
