Frank T. Colavecchia, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Northgate Manor in North Tonawanda, NY. Born in Rochester, NY he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Mitro) Colavecchia.

Frank attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On September 20, 1952 he married Anne M. (Boscarino) Colavecchia at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Frank studied Missile Training in Texas and White Sands, AZ in the 1960's, and was one of the first minutemen in the Western New York area. He served in the New York International Guards as a Missile Mechanic at the 107th Air Base in Niagara Falls, NY for thirty five years until his retirement in 1989.

Frank was a member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America Cataract Lodge 240 in Niagara Falls. He was also a longtime member and served as a lecturer and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Lebanon Church and later at St. Joseph Church both in Niagara Falls. He loved to travel and was a handyman and avid gardener. Frank also loved to bowl and participated in various local bowling leagues. Above all, Frank loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of sixty two years, Frank is survived by two daughters Linda (Dan) Waller of Felton, CA and Carol (Carmen) Marra of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandchildren, Cara (Aaron) (Marra) Berger, Loren (Jessica) Judson and Katelyn Judson, three great-grandchildren, Sophie Berger, Gavin Berger and Alison Judson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one sister, Clem (late Lawrence) Irene, two brothers John (late Mae) Colavecchia and Albert (Mary of Rochester, NY) Colavecchia.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 31st from 4 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday, August 1st at 9:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Mt Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
