Frederick A. Volpe, 69, of the Town of Niagara, died on Tuesday July 7, 2009 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Alfred and Gladys (Howcroft) Volpe.

Fred, a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area, attended local schools and was an honors graduate of the first graduating class of LaSalle Senior High School on Military Road. On February 14, 1961 he married the love of his life, Maimie (Moses) Volpe at Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Rarely seen away from each other, Fred and Maimie were a deeply devoted couple who maintained an extraordinarily close relationship throughout their marriage. For twenty seven years he was employed by Keller Technology Corporation in Tonawanda, NY and in his earlier years, Fred was a self employed remodeling contractor. Fred was an avid golfer and member of the Hyde Park Golf Club, where he achieved two holes-in-one. He was also a longtime member of Our Lady of Lebanon Church, their Bible Study Group as well as serving as a Eucharistic Minister and on their Parish Council. He also participated in the Bible Study Group at St. John De LaSalle Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Fred was a devoted hard worker for his family and also enjoyed helping his fellow neighbors whenever he could.

In addition to his wife of forty eight years, Mr. Volpe is survived by three children Teirette (Romy) Kapoor of Atlanta, GA; Denise (John) Eckl of Lancaster, NY and Mark (Lisa) Volpe of Augusta, GA and was predeceased by one daughter Daria (Kenneth) Kuriscak. He is also survived by eight grandchildren Alanna, Rakayla and Serena Kapoor, Ryan and Tyler Eckl, Alexandra Bauer, Austin and Aria Volpe, one brother Robert (Patricia) Volpe of Wilson, NY and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday July 11th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, OSFS officiating. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
