Obituary

Fredrick P. Crogan, Jr., 65, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on August 21, 2026, at his residence under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Ransomville, NY, he was the son of the late Sunny Lee Printup and Frederick P. Crogan, Sr.

Fredrick was a proud member of the Tuscarora Nation Turtle Clan and a graduate of Niagara‑Wheatfield High School. He honorably served in the United States Marines from 1978 until his discharge in 1980, and later continued his dedication to service in the National Guard.

On August 8, 2010, he married Monica J. (Parker) Crogan in Niagara Falls, NY. Fred worked in the construction industry throughout his life, serving as a roofer, ironworker, and proud member of the Carpenter’s Local 276. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing lacrosse in his younger years. Above all, Fred loved spending time with his family—especially his children and grandchildren—at Ransomville Speedway, a place that brought him joy and connection.

Fredrick will be remembered most for his happy nature, his humor, his teasing spirit, and the smile he carried everywhere he went.

In addition to his wife of 16 years, Fredrick is survived by his children, Tina (late Damien) Mt. Pleasant, Phillip Crogan, Zachary Crogan, Taylor Crogan, and Quincy Crogan; his step‑children, Nathan Capton (Jackie Wilson) and Alyssa Parker; 19 grandchildren; his siblings, Clifford Crogan and Kelli Dowdy (Barney White); as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Teddy Crogan, Tony Crogan, and Bradley Crogan.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Tuscarora Indian Mission, 5035 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132, where funeral services will begin at 12 PM. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
