Gabrielle (Swift) Marrone, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born in Rattlesden, England, she was the first daughter of the late Herbert and Dora (Snelling) Swift.

Gabrielle met her husband, the late Camillo "Tee" Marrone, during World War II, when she was serving as a driver for allied forces in her home village of Rattlesden. They married when she was 20 in St. Nicholas Church, Rattlesden on May 22, 1945, and then sailed on the Queen Mary, which during the War, was converted to a troop ship, to start her new life with Tee in Niagara Falls, where their marriage was blessed at Sacred Heart Church. Gabrielle worked in the meat department at The A & P Grocery Store; was a deli manager at Harvest the Best Supermarket, Sattler's Department Store, and at Tops, where she retired. Later in life, Gabrielle enjoyed working in the jewelry department at Jenss.

Gabrielle is survived by her two children, Michael J. (Christine) Marrone and Melanie A. (Joseph) Sarkees Sr., all of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren; Merica (Sean) McCrea; Joseph Sarkees Jr.; Michael C. (Lyndsay) Marrone; and Camille Sarkees; four beautiful great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Gabrielle was one of nine children, she is survived by her brother, Jack (late Pat) Swift; and, her sister, Elizabeth (Geoff) Sparke, both of England; she is predeceased by William (Violet) Swift; Pamela (late John) Brown; Ann (Don) Keeble; Janet (late Howard) Burnside; Jennifer (John) Pyke; and, Michael (Jane) Swift, all of England. Gabrielle is also predeceased by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Daniel Marrone; Mary (late Ralph) Chiodo; Phil Marrone; Joseph (late Virginia) Marrone; and Carmella (late Jack) Pieroni.

Visitation will be Monday 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday October 1st at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Private interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations in Gabrielle Marrone's memory to be forwarded to St. Nicholas Church, Rattlesden, England.
