Genevieve (Jakubowski) Kasprzak, 94, of the Town of Niagara, NY died on Monday February 23, 2009 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Mathew and Veronica (Najewski) Jakubowski.
Genevieve was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. In 1935 she married Stanley Kasprzak at Holy Trinity Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Kasprzak predeceased her in 1982. She was a long time member of St. Leo's Church in the Town of Niagara where she was a volunteer worker for their Bingo, and also enjoyed playing. Genevieve also enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and knitting, but her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family.
Mrs. Kasprzak is survived by three children; Sally (Frank) Raisig of Ransomville, NY; Stanley (late Sally 'Diane') Kasprzak and Edwin W. Kasprzak both of Niagara Falls, NY, and was predeceased by one daughter Carol (Frederick of Niagara Falls, NY) Watson. Genevieve was the grandmother of; Bruce Raisig, Wendy Raisig, Tracy DiPasquale, Stanley J. Kasprzak, Julie Kasprzak, Kimberly Watson, late Frederick Watson and late Robbie Raisig, great-grandmother of Alexis Kasprzak, sister of; Laura Dolan of the Town of Niagara, NY, Katherine (Frank) Gregorski, Mary Anne (Louis) Mari both of Niagara Falls, NY Stephanie (Charles) Boos of Lewiston, NY, late Sophie Walsek, late Jenny (late Edgar) Sayers, Rose (late Pete) Maj, Henry Jakubowski and Richard Jakubowski. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Thursday February 26th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls NY with Rev. James Fugle officiating. Interment will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
