George T. Cartagena, 55, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Born in Detroit, MI, he was the beloved son of the late Angel Cartagena and Marilyn (Balerina) Kross. George was raised in Detroit, where he attended local schools and worked at KFC for several years. In 2010, he relocated to Niagara Falls with his father and brother to be closer to his sister and her children.

George was known for his larger-than-life personality and great sense of humor. He was incredibly loyal, always putting others before himself. His love for dogs and the Detroit Lions was evident to everyone who knew him.

George is survived by his siblings, Lewis Cartagena and Sherry Cartagena, and his stepsister, Diane Kross; his nieces and nephews, Angela Martinez, Hope Martinez, Angel Portillo, Dustin Henry, and Austin Henry, along with his cherished dog, Max; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In accordance with George's wishes, no services will be held. His family encourages everyone to remember his humor and carry it forward in their lives.
