Gerald G. Thomason, 69, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, a graduate of Niagara Wheatfield, and attended Cortland College.

Beloved husband of Leslie (Cusatis) for 29 years. Loving father of Jason Thomason (Rose) and Travis Mountain (Savannah) and stepfather to Rhiannon Kephart and Joseph (Sami) Kephart. Loving Poppy of Ayden, Joella, Jayce, Liam, Tyler, Hudson and Jerald. Loving son of the late Joyce Thomason Edwards, loving brother to Debby (Mike) Oliver and the late Dawn Thomason. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Gerald was the owner of Thomason Concrete Construction, Inc. which he started in 1994 after working for his uncle in the industry for several years. He recently passed the business along to his son, Jason, who has worked beside him for 30 years. He took great pride in his work and was known for expecting the same precision from his crew. He thrived on taking on the most difficult jobs, laying the foundation for the Niagara Community Center in Niagara Falls, the bleachers for Jet Boats in Lewiston, and over 1,000 residential new builds, additions, and patios in Niagara and Erie County.

He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler and dirt bike in the field behind his house with his grandchildren. In his free time, he loved to go riding on his Harley or take his grandchildren for rides in his corvette, if they were lucky. He was a fierce competitor in high school basketball and continued to play with his friends in the Gus Macker in Buffalo and Toronto for decades, taking many championships. When they were old enough, they brought their sons as well to carry on the tradition. He also loved his dogs Rosco and Logi and cat Buddy - who would all lay on him to get their nightly pets.

Family will be present on Thursday, June 11 from 2 - 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. Gerald’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 AM at St. Leo’s R.C. Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, 14304. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
