Gerald Lee Perriman, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Tuesday June 2, 2009 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pierce City, MO he was the son of the late Isaac Norman and Grace Marie (Rice) Perriman.
Gerald was educated in Missouri and served in the United States Army during World War II as a Private First Class from February 8, 1943 until his honorable discharge on December 6, 1945. He was involved in the campaigns in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe and was awarded Three Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. Following his discharge he came to Niagara Falls where he has lived until the present time. On July 3, 1946 he married Margaret A. (Candella) Perriman in Kansas. Gerald was employed by the former Kimberly Clark Company and later at Nitec Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY until his retirement in 1988. Gerald had a passion for listening and singing country music, and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, gardening and socializing with his friends. But most of all Gerald enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of sixty two years, Mr. Perriman is survived by four daughters; Joyce (Norman) Wynes of Davidson, NC; Susan (Frank) Paynter, Gail (Marco) Napolitano and Mary (Anthony) Leone all of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one son Larry Perriman. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; Derrick, Marlo, Stephanie, Melissa, Johnny, Bryon, Vincent, Mark, Sam, Nicholas and Matthew; ten great-grandchildren; four sisters Vera (Jim) Cain of Colorado Springs, CO; Cleta (Ronald) Vantyle of El Dorado, MO; Helen Galita of Bellville, IL; Thelma (Roger) Baker of Grand Junction, CO; several nieces, nephews and cousins and his dear friend Barbara. He was also predeceased by three brothers; Norman (Lillian of Niagara Falls, NY) Perriman, Pete Perriman, Everett (late Helen) Perriman and two sisters Marie Perriman and Wanda (late Carl) Davis.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday June 5th at 10 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Entombment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY at the convenience of the family.
