Gerald Porter, 75, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in Elderwood at Grand Island.

Jerry was born in Niagara Falls, NY, where he attended local schools and graduated from Niagara-Wheatfield High School. On November 15, 1963 he enlisted into the United States Marines and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1965.

Jerry was a longtime member of the Iron Workers Local 9 and retired as a Foreman after many years. He was also a member of the LaSalle Sportsman Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jerry especially enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with his dogs and grandchildren.

Mr. Porter is survived by his children, Tara (Sean) Kirwan and Grant (Najat) Porter; grandchildren, Kaylee Porter, Sophie Kirwan, Patrick Kirwan and Sara Porter; one brother, Randy Baker; and his former wife and forever friend, Cheryl Sotolongo, as well as two nephews, Richie Baker and Brad Sapin. He was predeceased by his mother, Ethel Baker; siblings, Richard and Robin Baker and his grandparents Grant and Flora Porter, whom helped raised him.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 28th from 10 – 12 Noon at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 12 Noon.
