Obituary

Gilbert "Gil" Scrivani, 71, of Niagara Falls passed away Friday September 6, 2013. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Vincent and Rose M. (Fedeli) Scrivani.

Gilbert was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools, graduating from the former Bishop Duffy High School and later attended Bryant and Stratton College. On May 26, 1973 he married Liana R. (Ponzi) Scrivani in St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. NY. Gil worked as an insurance agent with Nationwide Insurance in Niagara Falls, NY from 1974 until 1996, when he retired due to health issues. In 1997, he founded an outreach program at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY where he also served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister until 2003. He was also a Eucharistic Minister at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls, NY until 2012. Gil was a former member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society in Niagara Falls, NY, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife of forty years, he is survived by his two sons, Vincent Scrivani and Andrew (Jennifer) Scrivani both of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren, Angelina, Lisa, Traceylyn and Casper Scrivani; two brothers, Harold Scrivani and Alexander (Susan) Scrivani; one aunt, one uncle, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the son-in-law of Sestina (late Nello) Ponzi.

There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are asked to assemble at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Rd. Niagara Falls, NY for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Wednesday September 11th at 10:00 AM. Arrangements by M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY.
