Giovina "Jean" (Porreca) Martini, 95 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, November 25,  2018 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born on October 29, 1923 in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Domenick and Filomena (Berarducci) Porreca.

Jean graduated from Niagara Falls High School and was employed during the 1940's at the Spirella Factory and the Bell Aircraft Corporation both in Niagara Falls, NY.  She met the love of her life, Salvatore Martini, in a beautiful love story involving family and friends. She finally traveled across the ocean to Italy, met him and 3 months later they were wed in Abruzzo, Italy on April 28, 1948.  Mr. Martini predeceased her on December 22, 1977.

Jean was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph's Church and a member of their choir.  She loved cooking, baking, family vacations and family picnics.  She centered her life around family and friends with her welcoming smile.  Jean also enjoyed reading and listening to a variety of music.  She resided at home until she moved to Elderwood Assisted Living in Tonawanda, NY in 2016 then lived 6 months at Elderwood Nursing home at Grand Island NY where she was affectionately known as Gigi.

Mrs. Martini is survived by her children, Sandra Marie Giancola, John Anthony (Mary S.) Martini and Patrick Louis Martini; grandsons, Daniel (Christina) Giancola, Tino (Chanda) Giancola and Joseph (finace' Amy Rocco) Giancola; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Christian, and Brooke, brother, John (late Estelle) Porreca and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by siblings, late Anne Biondi and late William (Josephine) Porreca.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 29th from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 30th at 9:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph's Church Site 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, N.Y.  Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
