Giuditta 'Julie' Forgione, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away October 21, 2019 at Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus, in Cheektowaga, NY.  Born on June 22, 1933 in Spezzano Della Sila, Cosenza, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Biagio and Rosaria (Scarpelli) Fiorita.

Julie came to the United States in January of 1949 with her three brothers.  She was raised from the age of 15 by her uncle and aunt, William and Maria Scarpelli.  Julie was devoted to them and forever grateful for the sacrifices they made to provide a wonderful life for her and her brothers.

Julie, as she preferred to be called, was a member of St. Joseph Church, where she served on the St. Joseph's Mother's Club, the Madonna Del Soccorso Society, and the Anime Sante Del Purgatorio Society.  She also enjoyed visiting Our Lady of Fatima Shrine with her beloved mother-in-law, Ninetta Forgione, to pray the rosary.

Julie is survived by her children, Robert (Debra) Forgione, Antoinette Shaw, John (Jodi) Forgione, and William (Anna Marie) Forgione; she was the cherished Nani of Alex Shaw.  Julie was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Frank P. Forgione, as well as her precious daughter, Maria.  In addition, she was also predeceased by her siblings, Assunta (late Giuseppe) Imbrogno, Anthony (late Alberta) Fiorita, Mario (Milvia) Fiorita, Frank (Annie) Fiorita, Gino Fiorita, Columba Fiorita, Emalinda Curcio, and Adelina Fiorita. Julie will also be greatly missed by granddaughters, Janelle Pedulla and Tiffany Shemidine.

A special thank you to the staff of Unit 4 at Elderwood in Cheektowaga for taking such good care of our mom.  Even though she could sometimes be a handful, please know that she was grateful and appreciative for the care provided by all.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23 ^rd from 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services begin on Thursday at 9:15 AM followed by Julie's Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
