Gladys Jean (Steele) Newton, 68, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Friday April 5, 2013 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of Gladys M. (Harris) Steele of Niagara Falls, NY and the late George C. Steele.

Gladys attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1963. On July 6, 1963 she married MSgt. Robert I. "Bob" Newton, USAF ( Ret), in Niagara Presbyterian Church in Niagara Falls, NY. He predeceased her on April 8, 2011. In her leisure Gladys enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Newton is survived by four children, Keith L. Newton, Wayne E. Newton, Glenn A. Newton, and Elaine M. Newton, all of Niagara Falls, NY; one brother, James B. (Barbara) Steele of Anaheim, CA; one sister, Gail L. (late Len) Weisberg of San Diego, CA, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Keith C. Steele, and a sister, Donna M. (William of Colorado Springs, CO) Malabre.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 – 9 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday April 10th at 10:00 AM at Niagara Presbyterian Church, 3712 Military Rd. (at Lockport Rd.), Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Justin Marple, officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY. If desired, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
