Gordon J. Bolton, 89, of Ransomville, NY, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2019 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Pierce, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Gordon and Isabelle (Teranto) Long; and beloved husband of Florence (Stevens) Bolton, who he married in 1951 at St. Joseph Church.
Gordon was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and attended Erie Community College. On December 20, 1950, he enlisted into the United States Coast Guard until his honorable discharge in 1953. Mr. Bolton was employed by the Carpenters Local Union 276 as a millwright for over 45 years prior to retiring in 1992.
Gordon was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion, and loved working bingo at Immaculate Conception Church. He also enjoyed putzing around his home but above all, he especially enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, Mr. Bolton is survived by his daughter, Linda (Patrick) Mullen and Larry (Debbie) Bolton; four grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa) Mullen, Jeffrey (Kristen) Mullen, Jennifer Mullen and Paul (Amy) Bolton; his great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Joseph, Skye and Alani; one brother, Paul (Joan) Bolton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by two siblings, Ronald (late Patricia) Long and Mary Ann Long.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the Ransomville Fire Department and EMTs; the Lewiston Police Department, as well as a special thank you to Jodie Neadow, Gordon's nurse and longtime caregiver, for her devoted care and compassion.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 30th from 3 – 7 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 8:15 A.M., followed by Mr. Gordon's Mass of Christian Burial at 8:45 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
