Grace M. (Ricotta) Caterina 81, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away at her residence on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late James and Louise (Scamacca) Ricotta.

Grace was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational in 1944. Grace married Armand Caterina on September 1, 1951. He predeceased her March 11, 1994. For over thirty years, Grace worked as a librarian for Niagara Falls Public Library and later Niagara University until her retirement in 1990.

Grace was an extremely devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a leader for Alpha, a member of WOW, (Women of the Word) and very active with Christian Ministries and local prayer groups. Grace also enjoyed attending religious retreats, traveling to Florida, taking cruises and reading.

Mrs. Caterina is survived by her two daughters, Grace Ann Gasse of Sanborn, NY and Lisa Caterina of Las Vegas, NV, one granddaughter Naomi Caterina of Las Vegas, NV, three sisters, Sarah (late John) Soluri, Mary (Tony) Martello and Isabel (Vincent) Caterina all of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church 1413 Pine Avenue Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE WILL ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
