Obituary

Grace Florence Fiegel, age 101, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, in Mentor, Ohio. Born on October 4, 1924, in Millersport, New York, Grace lived a long and beautiful life defined by her unwavering faith, vibrant spirit, and profound love for her family.

A deeply spiritual woman, Grace was a devout prayer warrior who faithfully prayed the rosary multiple times each day, right up until her passing. She was especially radiant in the morning with her beautiful smile, warm affectionate expressions, and kind words. She was always on the move and loved staying active and participating in activities with her friends. She especially looked forward to her weekly hairdresser appointments and getting her nails done. Above all else, Grace lived for her family. Her heart was forever intertwined with those of her children, and she was often heard saying, “I don’t know what I would do without my kids.”

Grace is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Clarence “Bud” Fiegel, who preceded her in death in 1985; her daughter-in-law, Cynthia; and her great-grandson, James.

Her remarkable legacy of love lives on through her three children: Sandra (David) Cassidy, Douglas (Barbara) Fiegel, and Dennis (Cynthia) Fiegel. She was a proud and loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to seventeen great-grandchildren.

Her family continues to grow and includes Christine Cavallaro (mother of Cassidy and Cayden); Brian and Nicole Cassidy (parents of Jack, Luke, Mary, and the late James); Kelli and Steve Pastor (parents of Steven and Jenna); Jamie Fiegel and Adam Fowler (parents of Jaylee, Mia, and Adia); Douglas II and Jonna Wopperer (parents of Quinn and Douglas III); Ashley and Michael Palage III (parents of Michael IV and Alessia); and Hillary and Kyle Wirtz (parents of Hunter and Brody).

Celebrations of Life will be held November 7at St. Justin Martyr Church in Eastlake, Ohio, and December 28 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Church, 620 Center St. in Lewiston, New York. Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. For condolences, visit www.mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com.
