Grace Mary (Zaccaria) Granto, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY entered peacefully into rest on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Zaccaria Zaccaria and Angelica "Jenny" (Rotella) Zaccaria. On September 28, 1948, she married Louis Anthony Granto. He predeceased her in 2001.

Grace attended 10th Street Elementary School, South Junior High School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in June of 1941. She worked as a stenographer for the Niagara Falls Board of Education and retired in 1989 after 16 years of service. She also worked at Hooker Electrochemical Co, from 1943-49. She was a charter member and former lector at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was also a member of Cristoforo Colombo Women's Society, Niagara Falls Society of Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, La Congrega di Madonna Del Perpetual Soccorso. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who touched the life of everyone she met. She will be dearly missed, but her presence will live on in our hearts forever.


Mrs. Granto is survived by her son, Paul L Granto (Victoria) of Niagara Falls, NY; daughter, Lucille Magura (Stephen) of Kalamazoo, Michigan and was predeceased by a son Peter A. Granto (Linda of Niagara Falls, NY) and a brother Nicholas Zaccaria. Cherished grandmother of Nicole Granto-Sheehan, Paul Granto Jr., Marissa Lynne Granto, Stephanie Deussing (Adam), Evan Magura, Christie Granto and Peter Granto, Jr. Great grandmother of Mya Lynne & Robert Paul Schultz, Peter Grant Sheehan, Sophia Grace Deussing, Gabriella , Breonna and Peter Granto III. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is also survived by her sisters- in-law Celia Granto (late Carmen A.) and Shirley Tolomeo (late Gordon) as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 2 – 6 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday January 23rd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
