Grace L. Jarvis, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Monday June 20, 2011 at her residence while under the care of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Sarah (Vilardo) LaSpisa.

Grace was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She had worked in the Accounts Receivable Department at Carborundum Corporation in Niagara Falls before she retired in 1990. Grace was an excellent cook and very detail oriented seamstress. She enjoyed making sweaters, dresses, and other apparel items for her family; especially when a new baby was welcomed into the family. Grace also knitted square patterns and donated them to Roswell Park Cancer Institute for assembly into afghans for the patients' comfort. Most importantly, she centered her life on the care and well being of her family.

Mrs. Jarvis is survived by her children Nancy (Quentin) Farmer of Douglasville, GA, Lawrence Archie, Christine (Tom) Urbaniak, and Lisa (Tom) Bickelman both of Wheatfield, NY and Lawrence Archie; grandchildren Tara Puff, Anne Marie Underwood, Quentin Farmer, Christine King, Andrew Bickelman, and Stephanie Bickelman; great-grandchildren Madelyn, Gabrielle, Alexis, Emersyn Kate, and Zachary; her sister Rosaria (late Carl) Cronwell of Wheatfield, NY and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother; Joseph (Elena of Wisconsin) LaSpisa Grace's husband Claude V. Jarvis predeceased her on July 25, 2006. She is also survived by her step-children James "Larry" (Carolyn) Jarvis of Pendleton, NY; Neil (Shirleyann) Jarvis of Lewiston, NY; step- grandchildren James Jarvis, Jeff Jarvis, Susan Gamble, Wendy Stephany, and Barbara Carlisto; step-great-grandchildren James, Ann, Nicholas, Terrance, Joel, Matthew, Summer, and Lexus; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at the convenience of the family in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Entombment followed in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
