Obituary

Grace M. Kovaleski, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on June 13, 2026, at Elderwood at Wheatfield in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Ellen (Callen) Augustino.

Grace was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On June 7, 1958, she married Gerald “Jerry” J. Kovaleski, Sr. Mr. Kovaleski predeceased her on September 15, 2019.

Grace was employed in the office at Permanent Savings Bank in Niagara Falls and later worked in the office at St. Mary’s of the Cataract Church. She was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus #247 Ladies Auxiliary. Grace enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, and traveling cross country with her husband. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Clark) Bolents, and her son, Gerald (late Karen) Kovaleski, Jr.; her grandchildren, Courtney (Eric) Guenther, Clye (Deanna) Bolents, Zachery (Gina) Knox, and Kaylynn (Brian) Winters; and her great grandchildren, Tessa, Jameson, Avery, Jack, Harper, and William. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband of 61 years, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert (Patricia) Augustino.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. Grace’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 16, at 10 AM at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice (www.niagarahospice.org).
