Grace G. (Vegna) Previte, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Monday April 13, 2009 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Denaro) Vegna.
Grace was raised and educated in Buffalo, NY, and on June 7, 1933 she married Frank J. Previte, Sr. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Previte moved to Niagara Falls where she has lived until the present time. Mr. Previte predeceased her on February 24, 1973. Grace worked as a waitress for various local restaurants in Niagara Falls. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, as well as their Ladies of Charity. Grace was also a member of the former Century Club in Niagara Falls and was a volunteer worker for the Board of Elections. In her leisure time, she enjoyed ceramics, baking and cooking for her family and friends, but above all Grace enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Previte is survived by one daughter Catherine A. 'Kaye' (Tony) Vanni of Lewiston, NY; one son Frank J. Previte Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one son Peter J. (late Barbara) Previte. She is also survived by nine grandchildren Rick (Diane) Vanni, Kim (Mark) Gaines, Cara (Joseph) Serianni, Frank J. (Janice) Previte III, Leonard Previte, Joseph P. (Michelle) Previte, Pam Previte, Lois (Stanley) Phair and Patty Previte; seventeen great-grandchildren, one brother Carl (late Rose) Vegna of Buffalo, NY; one sister Marie (late Wally) Wojciesczak of Pinehurst, NC and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one granddaughter Cindy Previte, two brothers Dominic (late Geraldine) Vegna, Frank (late Marge) Vegna and one sister Jean (late Louis) Locastro.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday April 17th at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, OSFS officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY.
