Gregory E. McGahey, 68, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on September 8, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late William and Agnes (Edwards-Babi) McGahey and stepson of the late Stanley Babi.

Greg was the beloved husband of Linda (Siegrist) McGahey who he married on October 25, 1996. Gregory served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1970. He was a former Control Room Operator for Olin Chemical Niagara Falls for 37 years until his retirement. He loved driving his corvette, snowmobiling, building remote control airplanes, going camping, and most of all, attending his granddaughter's softball games at Cayuga Gamblers Softball, where he was referred to as the "tan grandpa". Greg was an avid golfer - you could find him often at River Oak Golf Course where he was considered the "second member of the club".

In addition to his wife Linda, Greg is survived by his son Gregory G. McGahey, his stepdaughter Tammy (Marc) La Gamba and stepson Kenneth R. Cornell; his granddaughters Samantha and Vincenette La Gamba; his siblings, William D. McGahey, MaryJane (John) Smith, Becky (Norm) McGahey-Dudek, Dory Babi, and Candy Richardson-Babi. He is also survived by his aunt Mae Desabrais (Edwards), his sister in law Dawn (Richard) Kupiec and brother in law Thomas (Mary) Siegrist, his dear friend Bill (late Betsy) Blumhagen of Long Lake, NY, and many nieces and nephews. Greg was predeceased by his brother Stan Babi (Sharon) and sister Bonita Babi.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2 - 4 P.M. and 6 - 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS. NY 14304 where funeral services will be held on Wednesday., September 12th at 11:00 A.M.
