Obituary
Gregory J. Olson, 55, of Grand Island, NY passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Alvin and Isabelle (Rizzo) Olson.
Greg was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He later attended Niagara University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and completed his education with a Master's Degree in Business Administration at the University of Buffalo. He was currently employed as a vice president and treasury portfolio manager at M & T Bank in Buffalo, NY, and recently received a twenty five year service award. Prior to working at M & T Bank Greg was employed at Merrill Lynch. Gregory was an avid cyclist and competed as a Category 2 Cyclist in the Empire State Games. Greg also ran in the Skylon International Marathon completing it in 3:01 hours.
Gregory was predeceased by his wife Cynthia (Innes) Olson on January 2, 2010. He is survived by his dearly beloved daughter, Jennalise E. Olson of Grand Island, NY; three brothers, Morris A. (Louise) Olson, Charles J. (Maureen) Olson both of Niagara Falls, NY and John T. (Maureen) Olson of Lewiston, NY as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the son-in-law of Fern (late Walter) Innes of Tonawanda, NY and brother-in-law of Stephen (Jelene) Innes and Elaine (Kader) Laroussi.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will be in Whitehaven Cemetery, Grand Island, NY at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Network of WNY, 3297 Walden Ave, Depew, NY 14043.
