Harold J. Donoughe, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away with his loving family by his side on August 19, 2024 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY.  Born in Loretto, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony P. and Helen (Eckenrode) Donoughe.

Harold, affectionally known as "Papa", valiantly battled several illnesses over the years.  He graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1960.  On June 4, 1966 he married Janet A. (Rizzotto) Donoughe in Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls, NY.   He proudly served in the NY State National Guard for 6 years.  Harold was employed at Maxims and several other businesses and became manager at Kings in Albany.  Later he worked at Harrison Radiator - General Motors in Manufacturing, retiring in 1998.

Harold coached baseball for several years for LaSalle Little League.  He was the Commissioner of the family fantasy football league for 15 years and belonged to several bowling leagues.  Harold enjoyed making Christmas cookies, especially pizzelles and loved watching football and hockey.  He was the biggest fan his two grandchildren, attending all of their sports and activities.  Harold was loving and affectionate and enjoyed immensely spending time with his family.   He was loved and admired by everyone who knew him.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Harold is survived by his children, Dawn (Gary) Prohaska and Jeffrey (Dakotah Schaaf) Donoughe; grandchildren, Matthew Prohaska and Kristen (Matthew Palmer) Prohaska; his siblings, Robert (late Mary) Donoughe, Mary Ellen (Terry) Jackson and Joanie (Bob) Ferlito-Dell; his sister-in-law Michele Rizzotto as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.   He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Allyson Prohaska; siblings, Anthony P. Donoughe, Jr., Mark Donoughe, Rose Reese, Anna Costanza, Marilyn Hall, Elliott Donoughe, Kathleen Gematti, Donald (Judy) Donoughe, and his sister-in-law, Angela (late Guy) Mort.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will begin on Friday at 10:15 AM, followed by Harold's Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.  Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.   In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings can be made to Roswell Park, https://give.roswellpark.org/ or to a charity of one's choice.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
