Obituary

Harold W. "Mac" McQuillan, 73, passed away Saturday May 16, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Niagara Hospice, at his Niagara Falls residence. Born and educated in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Walker) McQuillan.

Mac served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a marksman from December 10, 1963 until December 9, 1965, and was awarded the Purple Heart for his honorable service. He worked for over 37 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Niagara Falls as a chemical operator and later in the shipping and receiving department. On March 6, 1992 he married Jo Ann (Patruno) McQuillan. In his younger years, Mac enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping, but his greatest experiences were the good times he spent with his family, grandchildren, and his dog, Brandy.

In addition to his wife of twenty-three years, Mac is survived by six children, William (Jackie) McQuillan of East Otto, NY, Steven (Valerie) McQuillan, David McQuillan, Michael (Miranda) McQuillan, all of Niagara Falls,NY, Geffrey (Chrissy) Carr of Wilson, NY and Christina (Gregg) Tortoriello of Walden, NY; twelve grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret (Lorne) Shotwell of Lewiston, NY and Patricia (Charles) Schmitz of Niagara Falls, NY; his mother-in-law, Angeline (late Peter) Patruno of Niagara Falls, NY, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mac was predeceased by his first wife, Carol (Jessie) McQuillan in 1987, and by two sisters, Delores (late John) Laslo, and Mary (late Richard) Neri.

Visitation Tuesday 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Rd. Niagara Falls, NY where funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 20th at 10:30 AM. Interment with military honors in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
