Harriet (Kinde) Wagner, 93, of Lockport Presbyterian Home, died peacefully on Tuesday February 2, 2010. She was born in Canandaigua, NY, daughter of the late Hazle (Lee) and Stuart F. Kinde. She married Orville G. Wagner, who predeceased her in 1967, on June 30, 1940 in Canandaigua and resided in Niagara Falls until 2007.
Mrs. Wagner was a 1938 graduate of Syracuse University with a major in Home Economics and Child Psychology. She was a member of the Buffalo Alumni Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Mrs. Wagner was employed as a caseworker at Niagara County Department of Social Services until her retirement in 1981. She was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for many years, which included teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, bowling, reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her children Dennis Wagner of Whitsett, NC, Allyn (Rosita) Wagner of West Milton, OH, Terence (Jennifer) Wagner of Starkville, MS, and Kathryn (Alfred) Fratello of Niagara Falls, NY. She has thirteen grandchildren, three of which reside in Niagara Falls: Michelle (Nicholas) Abel, Louis (Shana) Fratello, and Julie (Keith) Eberly, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday 4 – 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held Saturday February 6th at 9:30 AM with her son, Rev. Dennis W.K. Wagner, and her grandson, Jonathan Wagner, officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua, NY.
