Obituary
Helen L. (Babb) Bellina, 75 of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 surrounded by her family at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Curwensville, PA she was the daughter of the late Keith and Martha Babb.
Helen came to Niagara Falls as a child with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On October 16, 1959 she married Richard T. Bellina at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Bellina predeceased her on August 9, 2011. Helen was employed as a teacher's aide for the Niagara Children's E.T.C. Pre School. She later served as a volunteer grandmother through H.A.N.C.I. for the Niagara Falls School System. She and her husband loved to bowl and participated in area leagues both mixed and singles. Helen's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and especially loved having family gatherings in her home.
Helen is survived by four children Cheryl (John Stamborski) Hayes of Niagara Falls, NY; Brenda (Philip Balone) Bellina of South Boston, NY; Amy Beckett of Niagara Falls, NY and Richard T. (Heather Cassatt-Sayers) Bellina, Jr. of the Town of Niagara, NY; five grandchildren Shari (Reuben) Ralands, Michael (Jennifer Nageotte) Hayes, Danielle (John) Baraskas, Ryan Beckett and Kari Beckel; seven great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; her daughter-in-law Theresa Bellina and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one grandson Lucas Hayes who passed away in 2008 and one brother William Babb.
Visitation will be on Monday August 24th from 4 – 7 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY concluding with prayers at 7 p.m. Mrs. Bellina requested that her body be donated to the Anatomical Program of the University of Buffalo for medical research. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 or to HANCI (Health Association of Niagara County, Inc.), 1302 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
