Helen M. (Pospieszny) Costanzo, 96, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at her daughter's residence in Lewiston, NY. Born on September 10, 1920 in Niagara Falls she was the daughter of the late Mathew and Catherine Pospieszny.
Helen attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. On September 30, 1939, she married Samuel L. Costanzo at Holy Trinity Church in Niagara Falls. He predeceased her on November 3, 2010 after seventy-one years of marriage. Helen was employed at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat Co. She loved gardening and working in her yard, but Helen's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Costanzo is survived by her daughter, Marianne Palmisano of Lewiston, two sons, Samuel (Sylvia) Costanzo of Lockwood, NY and Frederick Costanzo of Niagara Falls, four grandchildren, Cathleen Healey, Tanya (Dave) Lockwood, Marissa (Dave) Scalzetti and Sara (John) Siconolfi; several great-grandchildren and her trusted aide Nancy Kahn. Helen was also predeceased by two brothers.
Family and friends are welcome to attend to pay their respects to a woman with a beautiful smile, sparkling blue eyes and compassion for humanity on Friday, February 10th from 10 – 11 a.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Stolinski officiating. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Niagara Cerebral Palsy Association, 9812 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
