Helen S. (Zukowski) Kielbasa, 88, of North Tonawanda, NY passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Cielsa) Zukowski.
Helen was raised and education in Buffalo, NY. On October 9, 1948 she married Ernest J. Kielbasa at St. Stanislaus Church in Buffalo, and moved to the North Tonawanda area in 1956. Mr. Kielbasa predeceased her on August 16, 1990. Helen was an outstanding cook and in her leisure time enjoyed knitting. Above all, Helen was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them.
Helen is survived by her three children, Nancy (Rick) Gatto of the Town of Niagara, NY, Ernest A. (Jeanne) Kielbasa of the Town of Wheatfield, NY and Michael E. (Janis) Kielbasa of Yorkville, IL; five grandchildren, Michael C. (Jennifer) Kielbasa, Kristen (Bill) Kielbasa-Cummings, Michael A. Kielbasa, Lauren (Josh) Pearson and Melissa Gatto; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Kramer, Emma Kielbasa, Tessa Kielbasa and Avery Pearson; her sister-in-law Ruth Zukowski of West Seneca, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Chester Zukowski, Henry Zukowski and John Zukowski.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 800 Niagara Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, NY with Rev. James Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY.
