Helen E. "Mitzi" Mattoni, 77, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on July 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Audrey (Licht) Kornacker.

Mitzi, as she was known to everyone, attended local schools and on November 15, 1958 she married Rev. Vincent D. Mattoni. She was employed at R.T. Jones Lumber Co. in North Tonawanda for over twenty-five years. Mitzi enjoyed spending time with her family and especially liked hosting holiday gatherings in her home.

In addition to her husband of fifty-seven years, Helen is survived by two daughters Tina L. Mattoni-Salamone (Thomas) Loor and Gina A. Mattoni; two grandchildren Joseph A. Salamone, Jr. and Marissa A. McGary; five brothers Richard Kornacker, John (Eva) Kornacker, Terry Kornacker, Jeff Kornacker, Mark (Lynn) Kornacker and Guy (Linda) Kornacker as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister Gloria (late Richard) Henry and one brother Dennis Kornacker.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 4th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m with her husband the Rev. Vincent D. Mattoni officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Savior, 834 19th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
