Herbert B. Adams, Jr., 83, of the Town of Niagara, NY died on Tuesday January 4, 2011 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Clearfield, PA he was the son of the late Herbert B. and Lois (Graham) Adams Sr..
Herbert moved to Niagara Falls, NY as a child with his family and attended local schools. He served in the United Navy during the later part of World War II and was awarded the American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal and WWII Victory Medal. On May 2, 1962 he married Frances M. (Pellegrino) Adams in Georgia. Mrs. Adams recently predeceased him on December 24, 2010. Herbert was employed by Associated Transport in Tonawanda, NY and later Kingsway in Kenmore, NY until he retired in the early 1990's. Herbert was a jack of all trades and particularly enjoyed working on cars.
Mr. Adams is survived by two children, Michael H. (Traci) Adams of North Tonawanda, NY and Lisa (Tim) Wilson of the Town of Niagara, NY, four grandchildren, Andrea Frazier, Michael Adams, Joseph (Brittany Gonzalez) DiFonzo and Daniel DiFonzo, two great- granddaughters, Olivia Adams and Serena DiFonzo, one brother, John (late Gwenda) Adams of Florida, one sister Dolores Adams of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Catherine (late Clare) Luzier and Karen (late Marv) Barner.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Friday January 7th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Mann officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Acacia Park Cemetery North Tonawanda, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined.
