Howard Richard "Dickie" Barrand, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday September 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Pekin, NY he was the son of the late William and Maude (Roberts) Barrand.

Dickie, as he was known to everyone, was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. He married Mary (Puia) Barrand at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls, NY on August 19, 1949. Mrs. Barrand predeceased him on February 11, 2001. He was employed as a Truck Driver at Spina Construction and later at Sevenson and retired after forty years of service. Dickie was very devoted to his church and in his leisure time he enjoyed hunting.

Mr. Barrand is survived by his caring daughters Rose Marie Barrand and Barbara Barrand both of Niagara Falls, NY; his sister Geraldine (Jack) Rogers of Austin, TX; his brother Robert (Gail) Barrand of Pekin, NY; and was Poppy to his adored dogs Mini Spitfire and Peanut. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers William (Ruth of North Tonawanda, NY) Barrand, Jr. and Gordon Barrand.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Thursday September 22nd at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Whitman officiating. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greater Niagara Falls Church of God, 2334 Lockport Rd. Sanborn, NY 14132.
