Howard A. Lehman, 88, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on May 27, 2022 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Howard E. and Angeline (Donatelli) Lehmann.

Howard was a 1952 graduate of Niagara Falls High School where he played football, basketball and baseball.  He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 until his honorable discharge from active duty in 1958, and played baseball while serving.  He later served in the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1962.  On May 26, 1961, he married Heidi E. (Marcinkowski) Lehman.  In 1963, he earned a Bachelor's Degree from Buffalo State in Education, where he was a member of Psi Beta Phi Fraternity and a member of the baseball team.  Howard was employed as a teacher with the Grand Island Board of Education for 34 years, teaching 4 ^th and 5 ^th grades at Kaegebein Elementary School.  He was involved with coaching sports through the Grand Island School system, coaching JV Baseball.  Howard also enjoyed bowling after retirement at the Rapids Bowling Alley.  In 2010, he was inducted into the Niagara Falls Old Timer's Hall of Fame for his baseball achievements.   Above all, his life centered around his family.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, Howard is survived by his children, Erika (Joseph) Conti, Howard A. Lehman, Jr., Kirk A. Lehman, and Dawn Marie Lehman; his grandchildren, Gabrielle (Derek) Janisch, Mara Finn, Lauren Conti, Howard A. Lehman, III, Kaitlyn Lehman, and Jack Lehman; his siblings, Nancy (late Maxwell, Jr.) Carrier and Don (Cathy) Lehmann, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM.  Entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY with Military Honors.  Flowers are graciously declined.  Memorial offerings may be made to the American Heart Association, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or the American Humane Society.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
