Irma M. Montagna, 94, of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 at O.L.P Nursing Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the loving daughter of the late Cosmo and Rosaria (DiCesare) DiMeo.

Irma was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, where she graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1940. On August 2, 1947, she married Charles C. Montagna at St. Joseph Church and was later predeceased by him on July 6, 2006. Irma was employed as a secretary for the Niagara Falls Board of Education until her retirement.

Irma enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful afghan blankets for her family, friends and the local hospitals. She was also a talented seamstress and an avid card player. She looked forward to her weekly card games with close friends at her home; and felt truly blessed to have kept touch with several high school friends, who enjoyed each other's company at monthly dinners and gatherings.

Mrs. Montagna loved her family and will be deeply missed by her three cherished children, Richard (Donna) Montagna, Joanna (Paul) Torreano and Maria (Richard) Bohlman; seven dear grandchildren, Lisa (Minfei) Leng, Anthony (Coreen) Montagna, Laura (Joseph) Zach, Lianne Montagna, Jason Torreano, Shannon (Philip) Welty, Christopher (Jessica) Bohlman; eight adored great-grandchildren, Eleah Leng, Zachary Leng, Aiden Zach, Catherine Zach, Bella Zach, Laurel and Daniel Welty, Simon Bohlman; two loving siblings, Rose (late Salvatore) Amato and Francis (Virginia) DiMeo; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Irma was predeceased by three of her siblings, Michaelene LaScala, Vincent (late Carol) DiMeo and Louis (late Annie) DiMeo.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9th from 5 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
