Jack H. Carpenter, 83 of Niagara Falls, NY died on Thursday January 22, 2009 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Escanaba, Michigan he was the son of the late Oliver J. and Irene (Hale) Carpenter.

Jack moved to the Niagara Falls area as an infant with his family and attended local schools. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration from Michigan State University and afterwards attended Wayne State University. Jack served in the United States Army during World War II from August 27, 1943 until his honorable discharge on June 6, 1946. He was involved in the campaigns of Central Europe and Rhineland and was awarded the EAME Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

Jack worked in automobile sales his entire adult life. One of his greatest passions in life was boating. He enjoyed sailing and motor boating, and was a member of the Buffalo Yacht Club. Jack was also a member of the Elks Club # 860, and in his spare time enjoyed reading.

Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife of thirty nine years Josephine (Sulitka) Carpenter, three children; Marc M. (Geraldine) Carpenter of the Town of Niagara, NY, Lynn (Mark) Seamonson of Cooper City, FL, Lea Ann (Larry) Lacina of Monroe Township, NJ, seven granddaughters; Jennifer (Andy) Bathgate, Jocelyn, Jenna and Michele Carpenter, Brooke and Paige Lacina, and Leah Seamonson, and two great-grandsons Brayden and Barron Bathgate.

Abiding by Mr. Carpenter's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
