Jacob Madonia, age 30, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Rome, NY, he was the loving son of Judy (Pease) Madonia and the late Donald Madonia.

Jacob was a 2005 graduate of Rome Free Academy and a standout in shot put and discus. His athletic and academic achievements earned him a scholarship to the University at Buffalo where he was a NCAA Division I Conference Champion.  He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Master's degrees in Exercise Physiology and his BSN degree.

Jacob was employed at Roswell Park Cancer Institute as an administrative nurse of the leukemia and lymphoma center. For his extraordinary nursing care to the community, Jake was awarded the DAISY award by Roswell Park.

On December 21, 2013, he married his beloved wife, Lorrina (Kostuk) Madonia, who he met while attending college. They resided in Youngstown, NY with their infant daughter, Nalina Rose Madonia, and german shorthair pointer dog, Java.

In his leisure time, Jake enjoyed woodworking, photography and home improvement. He also enjoyed playing the saxophone but above all, spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, daughter and mother, Jake is survived by his sisters, Dana (Timothy) Blake and Leona Mendiola; his maternal grandmother Lillian (late Robert) Pease; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Angela and Wayne Kostuk; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his best friends, Robert Brown and Brian Wallas and many other friends. In addition to his father, he was also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Mary Madonia.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 21 ^st from 1 – 3 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where services will be celebrated at 3:00 P.M.
