Jamar Tyson, Sr, age 44, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Jamar was the cherished son of the late Connie (Tyson) Elliott and James P. Lewis, Sr.
Jamar attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He spent many dedicated years working as a machine operator with Metalico in Niagara Falls, where he was highly regarded by his colleagues.
Known for his loving and caring personality, Jamar was also an exceptionally talented drawing artist. However, the true joy and focus of his life were his family. He devoted himself wholeheartedly to his children and grandchildren, creating memories they will cherish forever.
Jamar is survived by his beloved children, Jamar Tyson Jr., Tchina Tyson, Champella Tyson, Jermain Tyson, Xavier Tyson, Martina Tyson, Kiki Drinks, Shamar Tyson and Diamond Szopinski; ten adored grandchildren; his siblings, James Lewis Jr, Derrick Tyson, Rashawn Little, Consuela Palmer-Lewis, Quatina Lewis, Philip Lewis and Kareem Clark; his devoted uncles Derrick Daniels and Robert Lewis, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his mother, Connie; Jamar was sadly predeceased by his brother, Elijah Little.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 1 from 11 – 1 PM at M. J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where homegoing services will follow at 1:00 PM. A Repass will follow at the American Legion Post 381, 923 Niagara Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14305 from 3 - 7 PM.
