James J. Conti, Sr. 83 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday November 15, 2011 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (LaVerde) Conti.

James was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools, graduating from Niagara Falls High School, and later serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. For forty two years, he worked at the Carborundum Company, later Nitec Corporation in Niagara Falls, where he also served as union president. James retired from M & T Bank as a courier.

Mr. Conti is survived by his wife Dolly M. (Williams) Conti of Niagara Falls, NY, two children, Melissa (Judah) Gehl of North Tonawanda, NY and James J. Conti Jr., four grandchildren, Jacqueline, Matthew, Tyler and Jesse, one brother John (Joan) Conti and one sister Lorraine (Dick) Pealer both of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one brother Lawrence V. Conti.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday November 18th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Raphael Parish 3840 Macklem Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY with Military Honors.
