James G. DeFranco, 61, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the beloved son of Zora (Rusnak) DeFranco and the late James N. DeFranco.

James' courageous battle with a unique illness since the age of 3 was a true inspiration to his family and friends. He was a devout Catholic, and longtime member of Prince of Peace Church, where he was honored to have been Confirmed by the late Monsignor Murphy. He loved listening to music and being in the presence of his family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving siblings, Constance (Frank) Nardello, Mary Kennedy, Andrea (late Rick Tarapczynski) DeFranco, Russell (Dawn) DeFranco, Denise (Tim) Mast and Carolyne (Stephen) Raglow-DeFranco; his dear nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

The DeFranco family wishes to thank the staff of Schoellkopf Nursing Care Facility, especially Linda Duke, Valerie Dolson and Sherrie Pugh for the love and care given to James. A special thank you as well to staff of Empower for the excellent support during James' 10 years at their facility.

In accordance to the wishes of the family, funeral services and interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY will be held privately. Memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
