Obituary

James W. Hahn, 78 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Wednesday January 6, 2021 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise (Quinones) Hahn.

James graduated From Bishop Duffy High School in 1960.  He later earned his Associate's Degree from Erie Community College.  He then went on to serve in the United States Air Force Reserves with the 914 th Combat Support Squadron in Niagara Falls in 1964 until his honorable discharge.  Following his time in the service, Jim returned to Niagara Falls, where he married Patricia L. (Mitrano) Hahn on September 25, 1965.

James worked throughout his lifetime at many industrial manufacturing plants in the Niagara Falls area and retired from Union Carbide Graphite Division to pursue his favorite pastime of woodworking.

Jim's greatest achievement was his family he was the head of his household and provided love, courage and wisdom, he was an avid sports enthusiast, He enjoyed golfing, fishing and baseball.  Jim was well known through the Niagara Falls area for coaching several baseball teams in the Lasalle Little League and PAL. He was active in the Cayuga Island Homeowner's Association as well as a loving Papa to his six grandchildren.  Papa could be found at the many baseball, hockey, football, soccer and golf games with them.

Jim leaves behind a legacy for us always to remember him by with a smile and a laugh, a big hug, a total DAD joke or with a cigar in his hand.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, James is survived by his sons, James W (Dawn) Hahn, Jr. Jeffrey (Mary) Hahn and Joseph (Robin) Hahn; his grandchildren Jason Hahn, Jeffrey (Heather) Hahn, Jr., Jordan Hahn, Nicole Hahn, Kendall Hahn and Alex Hahn; his sisters, Joanne (Thomas) Kearney, Linda (John) Locatelli; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the current circumstances, there will be no prior visitation.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association at www.dven.org.  Arrangements by M.J.
