James E. Hallman, Sr. 76 of Franklinville, NY formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Saturday November 29, 2014 at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Indiana, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Hallman and Gay (Gilpatrick) Hallman – Fleming, and step-son of the late Paul Fleming.
James was raised and educated in Pennsylvania and moved to the Niagara Falls area at the age of 18 with his family. On May 10, 1958 he married Adele T. (Christiano) Hallman at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Hallman predeceased him on April 11, 2011. James began his employment as a transportation supervisor with Niagara Wheatfield Central School District, and went on to work with Ridge Road Express and Grand Island Transit until his retirement in early 2000. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and living in the country. He was also a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
James is survived by his two daughters, Debbie (Ken) Russell of Niagara Falls, NY; Janice (Jim) Busic of Franklinville, NY and was predeceased by his son Jimmy Hallman, Jr. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Dr. Denise (Nathan) Halter and Rosemarie (Josh) Thomson, six great-grandchildren, Christian, Douglas, Elliana, Cole, Easton and Berkley, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday December 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY.
